Nominations open
Leaders in engineering pave the way for transformation not just in their field, but in the world at large. The progress engineers make pushes the boundaries of what’s believed possible, shaping how we think, live, work and create. So, it deserves recognition.
For more than a century, our Excellence Awards have brought the engineering community together to honour its greatest achievements. These are the people and projects that move us forward, and make us proud to call ourselves engineers.
Excellence Award categories
From adept up-and-comers to seasoned professionals, we recognise the individuals, teams and projects that have achieved real, impactful innovation.
Nominations are now open, so take your pick and help us award excellence.
Awards timeline
If you’ve got a person or project in mind for an award, nominate. We can’t wait to see what’s been achieved this year.
That includes you – if you’ve done eligible work that you’re proud of, you’re welcome to self-nominate.
These are the key dates you need to keep in mind:
- Tuesday 2 April: Nominations open for all awards.
- Friday 31 May: Nominations close for project awards.
- Tuesday 2 July: Nominations close for people awards.
- 12–19 September: National finalists for people and projects and achievement awards winners are announced in your area.
- Thursday 21 November: National people and project winners are announced at gala dinner.
Recognise the best of the engineering profession with us as we announce the national finalists for people, project and achievement awards in your area.
These winners will go on to represent their division at our national gala, held later in the year.
Nominees will be announced from Wednesday 3 July.

Registrations open in July.
The gala dinner will be held on Thursday 21 November at the Brisbane City Hall, where we’ll announce the national winners of our Excellence Awards for 2024. This prestigious event is a special opportunity to recognise the engineers and projects on the leading edge of innovation in Australia.
The gala will feature a three course meal with drinks, networking opportunities and a roaming professional photographer. Mark your calendars, with registrations opening in September.
